Japan squad for the 2022 FIFA World Cup

 Japan national football team coach Hajime Moriyasu announced today, Tuesday, the final list of his team that will compete in the Qatar 2022 World Cup, scheduled for the period between November 20 and October 18.

Playmakers Daiichi Kamada and Takefusa Kubo topped Japan's 26-man squad for the World Cup, while the list knew the absence of Celtic Glasgow striker Kyogo Furuhashi and midfielder Rio Haiti.




"There are a lot of players in all the positions that could have been chosen, it was very difficult," the Japan coach added.

The same spokesman continued, "We never know what might happen, the players (who were not selected) have equal abilities and I hope they retain their will to fight for Japan."


The list of players is as follows:


Goalkeepers: 

Eiji Kawashima, Shuichi Gonda, Daniel Schmidt.


Defenders:

 Yuto Nagatomo, Maya Yoshida, Hiroki Sakai, Shougo Taniguchi, Miki Yaman, Ko Itakura, Yuta Nakayama, Hiroki Ito, Takehiro Tomiyasu.


Midfielders and Forwards:

 Gaku Shibasaki, Wataru Endo, Junya Ito, Takuma Asano, Takumi Minamino, Hidemasa Morita, Daiichi Kamada, Yuki Soma, Kaoru Mituma, Daisen Maeda, Ritsu Doan, Ayas Ueda, Ao Tanaka, Takefusa Kubo.
