We did not enter into any negotiations with Manchester United to sign Cristiano Ronaldo:
Napoli sporting director Cristiano Giuntoli has stated that they want to sign Manchester United star Cristiano Ronaldo during the summer Mercato.
And press reports revealed that Napoli is considering the possibility of including Ronaldo, with the possibility of concluding a reciprocal deal that would see the Portuguese move to the Italian team in exchange for Victor Osimhen’s transfer to Old Trafford.
But Cristiano Giuntoli denied this, saying in statements published in Italian newspapers: "I am sorry to tell you this, but we have not had any negotiations with Man United to sign Cristiano Ronaldo."
He added: "It was bad to quell the hope of the fans, but there was no negotiation. We are close to our players and we think we have a competitive team."
