The Catalan newspaper, “SPORT”, revealed that Barcelona had chosen the white color for its second shirt, which it will play in next season 2023-2024, after approval of that by club president Joan Laporta and the board of directors a few months ago.
The newspaper confirmed that Barcelona will wear white again on more than one occasion during the next season, although it is considered the basic and historical color of its traditional rival, Real Madrid. "There was controversy at the club before the decision was made, but it was approved, regardless of the initial criticism, and it will be one of the best-selling shirts in history," she said.
Noting that the initial sample of it that arrived at the club's offices is very successful and a few employees were able to see it.
The Catalan newspaper added, "It is true that at the end of the seventies, Barcelona played several games in white, and Johan Cruyff was the last football player to wear Barcelona's white shirt in the 1977-1978 season, but each time this possibility was a matter of controversy."
And the Spanish newspaper published - through its official account on Twitter - a modified image showing the white shirt on the team's star Robert Lewandowski, and wrote on it a question for the audience, "Do you like the second shirt that Barcelona will wear next season?"
Barcelona fans interacted with the journalist's question, as most of them answered "no", rejecting the white color in the club's shirt.
